Great gym and some of the most friendly and welcoming... people you'll ever meet. Ive been training BJJ for only a month and a half but i feel really welcomed. The gym creates a culture that revolves around respect, acceptance and friendliness as well as having a strong work ethic and its super enjoyable to come to every class.read more

If you're new to the martial arts scene or even have years... of experience under your belt, JD's gym is a great school to learn BJJ, boxing or muay thai. The gym is really clean and the members all understand how to maintain their personal hygiene when it comes to a full contact sport. In terms of coaching jiu jitsu, head coach JD knows exactly what he's doing. His knowledge and understanding of the art is extremely high which he is able to simplify down into an easy to understand way. I would recommend checking out his interview to get to know more about his background - A rare interview with John Donehue. The two boxing coaches Franco and Romeo are also legends. They are both super friendly and treat all their students equally. Francos also a really good boxing coach if you're also looking to take boxing seriously. If you're thinking about taking the next step, all i could say is i wish i started earlier. Good luck!read more

I have been training here with boxing coach Franco for 1.5... years, he is a really professional and passionate coach. The staffs here are really really really friendly! I feel so lucky to meet all these people here and they have made my boxing traning experience so fun and enjoyable!read more

I've only been training at this gym for 3 months but it's... amazing how quickly it has become like a second home! The coaches and staff are all very welcoming, and even for someone like me, who is a complete beginner in jiu jitsu, it has been an easy transition. And if you are more experienced there are also advanced classes available. All the coaches are very patient and happy to answer any questions you have. I highly recommend this place for both new and experienced fighters!read more

Since I have been here not only have I learned the art of self defence but have also been able to become part of this amazing family. Fantastic place to do all kinds of martial arts, very... welcoming environment to encourage others to strive for their goals. Very friendly family orientated gym, the staff are absolutely amazing!! Especially cassidy and Aaron in developing and evolving JD's MMA gym into further higher goals. I can recommend JD's gym as my top favorite place to roll with my close friends.read more

I moved here from NZ six months ago and was lucky enough to... get the opportunity to work and train under Coach John Donehue. The gym is clean, the coaches are supportive and attentive, and the vibe is always positive and welcoming. This is my second home and I see everyone here as my new Aussie family. I look forward to coming here everyday. Highly recommend to anyone looking to get fit, try something new, or just to be part of an awesome community. Friendly staff, great teachers and routine, the mats are... one of the best the only downsides are really the size of the facility, its just a little small and the gym room is relatively the size of a bedroom but the equipment there is fairly decent and is good enough for a quick workout. in the end it is worth the money since you're being coached by John Donehue who was trained by the great Gene Lebell and Rigan Machado, which is quite surreal. Would definitely recommend going for a free into lesson for bjj.read more

Found JDJJ & MMA roughly a month ago and it has been so... amazing to train and grow there. The environment is so encouraging and motivating from the coaches and other members. JDJJ&MMA is home! My experience training here has been... nothing but positive. The environment is intimidation-free, all members are welcoming and helpful. The gym is spotless, facilities are modern, the equipment is of great quality and in abundance. A wide variety of classes are offered which cater for all people at all levels. The coaches are world class, with all their knowledge and experience you couldn't ask for better. Learn from the best and get into the best shape of your life. Highly recommended!read more

Coach John Donehue is a highly accomplished grappling coach... with a wealth of knowledge spanning many years. His style of teaching suits everyone of all levels of experience, and the mental and physical exercise will push you to the limit. You will get fit quickly and have lots of fun. Glenn is the friendly face at reception that runs intensely rewarding fitness classes and Franco and Brent run fantastic boxing and Muay Thai classes. All in all, a highly sought after coach and gym. I would recommend to anyone. read more
